I missed my rocks while on vacation. Even did a stack in our hotel room.

backyard052304.JPG

This is what my back yard looked like on May 23, 2004. The fifth one from the left is the greatest single rockstack I have ever built -- Vibecatcher. He stood 6'9" tall, and he stood from late April until the floods of September. His job was to gather in the vibes from all the people creating things with 100 percent natural ingredents from all over the world and give me energy and ideas and broadcast mine to them. Sometimes when things were really happening, you could hear him making this buzzing sound. Okay, I made that up. But he was cool.

backyard053004.JPG

May 30, 2004, from left to right, there we see the Freckled Girl (later K-T), Aztec Hippy Timepiece, then the greatest rockstack ever -- Vibecatcher. At the bottom of the hill is Lil' Snake. That upside down tree I named "Sparks." Hurricane Frances got him.

captaindanger3061004.JPG

This is the only thing I have ever stacked upstream of my house. CaptainDanger was a great rockstack, but the birds really liked sitting on him, so he lost his head a lot.

foggystack5656562092604.JPG

The vacant lot at the intersection of Lower Grassy Branch Road and Hwy. 70 is a favorite Sunday morning destination for me and my stacklust. I did this back in Sept.

riverstack6062504.JPG

This was my "coming out" rock stack, the first thing I did out in public, I guess. That yellow leaf, the last one hanging on that tree, makes the moment.

snake.jpg

The Snake that Swallowed the Rainbow started it all. All winter, I'd been saving up rocks for a wall I was going to build in the Spring and then one day in March I decided that before I built the wall I would load all the rocks into the Honda and take them to the back yard and stack the snake -- I'd found the head just that week and gotten the idea. The stones never made it back to the front yard.
